About Us

We, the MAP Jesuits are working in two states; Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. Thus the two states make one Jesuit Province.

St. Ignatius of Loyola was a war-wounded soldier, before he was to be founder of Society of Jesus.  The year 1521 found him recovering at his home in northern Spain from grave injuries suffered during the battle of Pamplona.  Those many months of convalescence proved to be a journey of healing not just for his body but also his soul.

Trust, openness, vision and communication are practiced in daily community life. While Jesuits live together for the sake of their apostolic work, they also live together for mutual support, challenge and inspiration. These two sets of values have to be kept in balance: community for service and community for mutual growth and development.

Fr. Provincial takes help of his consulters before he takes important decisions to lead the Jesuits forward. There is another mechanism known as Province Commissions which meets time to time to discus on the issues pertaining to a particular commission.

Our Mission: Sharing the Good News with all and empowering the tribals, dalits and other marginalised groups through our ministries in educational, social, cultural, economic, political fields.

We are Jesuits working in Madhya Pradesh Jesuit Province. There are 218 Jesuits in the province, out of whom there are 74 Jesuits in the formation preparing themselves for future. The Jesuits in formation are sent for professional and technical training besides the religious training to prepare them for the work of Province.
