CAMPION RAIPUR

The eve of Ash Wednesday, March 8, brought joy to the community for many reasons. The reasons were firstly, obtaining of a long, long awaited permission of Campion School Raipur lay out plan from the Town and Country Planning Office. Fr. Kalyan received it with overwhelming joy and a deep sigh of release. What a relaxing moment especially for Fr. Kalyan who witnessed its slow progress.  Secondly, better late than never. Fr. Satya’s belated Happy Birthday (Feb 12). Thirdly, it was Women’s Day, and fourthly Fr. Deepak’s visit from Pathalgaon. It was a much called for celebration before entering into the desert experience from the following day.

Frs. Casmir Ekka (T) and Herman Joe attended a two days seminar at Vinayalaya, Mumbai from March 4 to 5 on the Right to Education Act from social perspective. All the participants agreed that a collective effort is needed to make the Act beneficial for the marginalized. Jesuits could play a role in mobilizing the people concerned. All appreciated many of the Jesuit Social centres which are running hostels and coaching centres apart from the School hour.

There were four trainings at XISA conducted by two groups: DB Tech conducted its training on March 12 and 13 and from 28 to 31; and Alpha Omegha Society conducted its trainings from March 15 to 17. With the training of DB Tech, the programme of Market Driven Employment Skill Development is launched by XISA in collaboration with DB Tech and supported by Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India, Delhi. The Programme will last for two years.

Campion School declared the result on March 28. The result was good. All the classes from KG I to Std IX had home examination. The school reopened on April 4.
